USI falls in spring opener

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team dropped its spring opener to the University of Tennessee-Martin, 7-2, Saturday evening at the Advantage Court and Fitness. USI falls to 0-2 this year, while UTM goes to 4-1.
After UTM captured all three doubles matches,USI senior Christoph Burger (Germany) put the Screaming Eagles on the score board at number one singles with a straight set victory over Stephan Bruwer (6-1, 6-3). USI freshamn Andrew Bostrom (Terre Haute, Indiana) gave the Eagles their second win of the match with a pro-set victory over UTM's Shuntaro Tsukiyama (8-6).
The next action for the Eagles will be February 15 when the Eagles play Grand Valley State University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
