USI men’s cross county takes
fifth in Commodore ClassicThe University of Southern Indiana women’s cross country team placed fifth in the Commodore Cross Country Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, Saturday. USI was led by senior Jon Jacob (Mt. Vernon, Indiana), who placed 10th with a time of 26:23.
USI second finisher was junior Jeff Rumsey (Rising Sun, Indiana), who was 31st with a time of 27:24.
The Eagles will return to action next weekend in the All-Missouri/Border States Championships, hosted by Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, Saturday, October 7. USI will not run in the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Frontrunner Invitational Saturday, October 14.
After October 7, the Eagles will prepare to host the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday, October 21.
