USI men’s cross county takes
fourth in "Little State"

The University of Southern Indiana men’s cross country team placed fourth in the Indiana Intercollegiates’ "Little State" at Indiana University on Friday. The Screaming Eagles also placed ninth overall.

The fourth place showing in the "Little State" is only the third time since 1979 that the Eagles have not finished first or second. The ninth place finish overall marks the 20th time in 22 intercollegiates that the Eagles have finished in the top 10 as a team.

The Eagles were led by senior Jon Jacob (Mt. Vernon, Indiana), who was 10th in the "Little State" and 45th overall with an 8k time of 24:43.18. Junior Jeff Rumsey (Rising Sun, Indiana) followed Jacob with a time of 24:50.24, placing 13th in the small college division and 50th overall.
