USI women’s cross county
takes third in Commodore Classic
The University of Southern Indiana women’s cross country team placed third in the Commodore Cross Country Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, Saturday. USI was led by sophomore Jenny Farmer (Princeton, Indiana), who placed 13th with a time of 19:12 over the 5k Vaughn’s Creek Course in Percy Warner Park.
Senior Kelly Cunningham (Bloomfield, Indiana) followed Farmer, placing 20th with a time of 19:41.
The Eagles will return to action next weekend in the All-Missouri/Border States Championships, hosted by Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, Saturday, October 7. USI will not run in the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Frontrunner Invitational Saturday, October 14.
After October 7, the Eagles will prepare to host the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday, October 21. USI is the defending women’s GLVC cross country champion.
