USI women’s cross county can’t catch UWP in GLVC Championships

The University of Southern Indiana women’s cross country team placed second for the first time in three seasons in the GLVC Championships on Saturday at the USI Cross Country Course. The Screaming Eagles, who had won the past two championships, finished 19 points behind the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, which had three of the top ten runners.

USI was led by senior Melissa Eddy (Hope, Indiana), who was eighth with a time of 22:50.74. Eddy was named All-GLVC.

The Eagles now prepare for the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, November 4, in Ashland, Ohio, and hosted by Ashland University.
