![]() For 10 seasons, Head Coach Keely Porter has focused the University of Southern Indiana women=s tennis team on finishing in the upper division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. During 2000-01, Porter took the Screaming Eagles to the brink of the GLVC Championship, placing second in the regular season at 8-1 and second in the league's post-season tournament. USI, 15-2 overall after the fall season, finished with a 17-4 overall record in the spring. Porter expanded the program's schedule into the spring semester for the first time after the school's first regional ranking (17th) for women's tennis.
In addition to coaching at USI, Porter is the head pro at Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh, Indiana, and on staff at Advantage Court and Fitness (formerly the Executive Inn Athletic Club) in Evansville. She is a United States Professional Tennis Registry certified pro, with 15 years of teaching experience. In her USI career, Porter has accumulated an 86-58 (.597) overall record and a 54-38 (.587) record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. She also has led the Screaming Eagles to fourth-place finishes in league play during the 1991, 1995, 1996, and 1997 seasons. Porter, a native of Newburgh, is a 1984 graduate of the University of Evansville with a bachelor=s degree in geography and anthropology. As a student athlete, Porter was the number one singles player and still holds the U of E record for career doubles winning percentage. Along with her duties in the Athletic Department, Porter is a member of
the Physical Education Department faculty.
