2007: Played primarily as a flex player at third base after struggling to
find a groove at the plate early in the season...also saw action behind the
plate...hit .080 in 25 at-bats...had two RBIs in USI's win over Georgian
Court.
TRANSFER: Transferred from Wabash Valley Junior College where she hit .304 with 12 RBIs and a home run in two seasons...helped Wabash to a 97-11 record and back-to-back Great Rivers Athletic Conference championships...earned second-team NJCAA I All-Region XXIV honors as a freshman after hitting .352 with nine RBIs and a home run in 71 at-bats...helped Wabash to 42 consecutive victories and the NJCAA I Region XXIV title in 2005...Wabash finished fourth at the national tournament in 2005 with a record of 50-5.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Boonville High School (Boonville) where she was a member of four Big-8 Conference championship squads...earned second-team All-State honors as a junior in 2003 and was named All-District V as a senior in 2004.
PERSONAL: Born April 1, 1986...daughter of Ivan Bates Jr. and Lisa Stroud...older sister, Brandy, played at USI.
