2007:
Earned second-team All-GLVC honors despite suffering a torn ACL midway
through the season...missed less than a month with the injury and came back
to hit .429 in conference-only games...helped the Eagles to a 7-2-1 record
in their final 10 conference games...overall, played in 42 games and made 39
starts...led the Eagles with a .362 batting average and 10 stolen
bases...scored 33 runs while producing 12 RBIs...led USI with 13
sacrifices...was fifth in the GLVC with 12 sacrifice bunts...recorded
first-career home run in USI's opening-round loss to Quincy in the GLVC
Tournament...hit safely in 14 of USI's last 15 games...enters the 2008
campaign with a six-game hitting streak...recorded two or more hits in 12
games...went 4-for-4 from the plate with five RBIs and three runs scored in
the Eagles' win over West Virginia Wesleyan...also went 1-2 with a save and
a 2.47 ERA in the pitching circle...appeared in five games while making two
starts...earned second-team ESPN The Magazine/Academic All-District V
honors and earned Academic All-GLVC honors for the third straight year.
2006: Had a break-out season as a sophomore, earning second-team All-Great Lakes Region honors as well as second-team All-GLVC honors...led USI and ranked sixth in the GLVC with a .392 batting average...had a team-leading 18 sacrifices...was third in the conference with 16 sacrifice bunts...was second on the team and tied for fifth in the GLVC with 45 runs scored...led USI with 14 stolen bases...had 17 multi-hit games, including three or more hits in six games and four hits in one game...went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored against Northern Kentucky University in the third round of the NCAA II Great Lakes Region Tournament...started 52 games and played in 56 of USI's 57 contests...hit .405 with runners in scoring position and successfully advanced runners in 62 percent of her chances...earned Academic All-GLVC honors for the second straight year.
2005: Earned Academic All-GLVC honors...played in 34 games as a freshman, making 19 starts, primarily in the outfield...struggled at the plate, hitting .083 in 24 at-bats...was 2-1 with a 1.88 ERA in six appearances in the pitching circle...made four starts as a pitcher as a freshman, recording two complete games and one shutout.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Tecumseh High School (Lynnville) where she was a second-team All-State selection as a senior in 2004...also earned honorable mention Academic All-State honors as a senior...has earned four All-Pocket Athletic Conference honors...was named second-team All-State as a junior and was a member of the IHSAA Class A State Finalist squad...was a 2003-04 Wendy's High School Heisman State Finalist and has been named All-Southwestern Indiana by the Evansville Courier and Press.
PERSONAL: Born April 5, 1986...daughter of Gordon and Sue Wood...sister Julie played softball at Brescia University.
