2008: Became the first USI softball player in 10 years to earn All-America
honors and the first in the program's history to be named All-America by two
different organizations in the same season...earned first-team NFCA
All-America honors as a designated player and second-team Daktronics
All-America honors as a designated player...also earned first-team
All-Region by both NFCA and Daktronics as well as first-team All-GLVC...led
the GLVC with a single-season school-record 54 RBIs as a sophomore,
surpassing Pat Snell's 30-year old record of 50...also became just the third
player since 1998 to hit .400 in a single season (Sunny Oelling hit .401 in
2003 and Trisha Poling hit .451 in 1998)...finished the season with a .405
batting average...also became the second player in school history to hit
double-figures in home runs (10)...racked up nine doubles to go along with a
team-high 64 hits...ranked in the top five of eight GLVC statistical
categories...started the season with a big splash, cranking two balls over
the fence in USI's season-opener against Arkansas Tech...was second on the
team with 18 multi-hit games and had a team-best 17 games in which she
recorded multiple RBIs...had a season-best nine-game hitting
streak...recorded a season-high four hits against Indianapolis and a
season-best three RBIs seven times...went 5-for-8 against national runner-up
Emporia State...earned Academic All-GLVC honors.
TRANSFER: Transferred from Bradley University (Peoria, Illinois) where she
played in 23 games as a freshman in 2007...hit .217 with three home runs and
eight RBIs to help Bradley to a 26-23 record during her freshman season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Pekin High School (Pekin, Illinois)
where she was a four-time first-team All-Conference selection...earned
second-team All-Area honors as a senior after recording a .515 batting
average...was PHS's Offensive MVP each of her last two seasons and was the
Illinois State hitting derby finalist as well as a sectional champion as a
junior.
PERSONAL: Born February 10, 1988...daughter of Jeffrey and Brenda Loete...was a national qualifying political speaker and speech captain during her senior year at PHS.
