Eagleís success rewarded with GLVC honors
University of Southern Indiana softball junior third baseman Nichole Pike (Fairfield, Illinois) and junior pitcher Shannon Emmons (Boonville, Indiana) earned GLVC Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for their performances in USIís 6-0 record against GLVC teams last week.
Pike earned GLVC Player of the Week honors after hitting .611 with six RBIs last week. She also scored seven times and recorded a pair of doubles as well as a stolen base.
Emmons earned GLVC Pitcher of the Week honors after recording a 3-0 record and her first save of the season last week. Emmons gave up just one run and recorded a 0.35 ERA while allowing just 12 hits in 20 innings of work. She also helped herself from the plate by batting .588 with eight runs batted in.
Both Pike and Emmons have helped lead the Eagles to 10 straight wins.
Tepe breaks career record
Junior first baseman Monica Tepe (Granger, Indiana) broke USIís career record for putouts Tuesday against McKendree College. Tepe recorded 19 putouts to bring her career total to 846. She also has a career fielding percentage of .995.
USI (22-16 overall, 11-7 GLVC) will wrap up its GLVC regular season schedule this Sunday, April 27, on the road against Quincy University. The Eagles will end their regular season schedule the following day with a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader against Brescia University at the USI Softball Field.

Extend winning streak to 10 games
The University of Southern Indiana softball team swept a doubleheader from NAIA 18th-ranked McKendree College Tuesday afternoon in Lebanon, Illinois, to extend its season-long win streak to 10 games. The Screaming Eagles won game one, 6-1, and game two, 8-5, to improve to 22-16 on the season. (more)
