The Great Lakes Region Softball Challenge has been moved from South Bend, Indiana, to the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Illinois. The fields at the South Bend complex will not be ready for the 20-team event which is slated to begin Friday, March 26.

The University of Southern Indiana will play five games at the Great Lakes Challenge starting with #15 Grand Valley State University March 26 at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, March 27, the Screaming Eagles will play three games—against Ashland University at 10 a.m., #25 Wayne State University at 4 p.m., and Gannon University at 8 p.m.—before finishing the weekend Sunday, March 28, with a single game against the University of Findlay at 11 a.m.

USI softball at Bellarmine postponed

USI's doubleheader with Bellarmine University has been postponed due to poor weather conditions in the Louisville, Kentucky, area. The doubleheader was scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, with the first pitch being thrown at 2 p.m.

No make-up date has been scheduled.

USI will host Quincy University Saturday, March 20, to open its 2004 GLVC schedule. First pitch for the twin bill is slated for noon at the USI Softball Field.

The Eagles are coming off a grueling road-swing that saw them play 12 games in six days.
