Eagles start Rebel Spring Games with two wins,
Kunkle moves into second on school's all-time wins list
University of Southern Indiana softball Head Coach Sue Kunkle
moved into second all-time in the program's 29-year history in career victories (119) as the Screaming Eagles defeated Ferris State University, 10-1 in six innings, and the University of South Dakota, 2-0, Monday at the Rebel Spring Games. Kunkle trails Beth Watson, who left USI with 204 victories in six seasons, on the program's all-time win's list.
USI (5-6) returns to action Tuesday when it takes on Philadelphia University at 1:20 p.m. (CST) and Saint Cloud State University at 3:10 p.m. (CST).

The Eagles exploded for three runs in the bottom of the first inning and hammered out four more runs in the fifth inning to take a commanding 7-1 advantage. Sophomore third baseman Kristin Eickholt

(Greenwood, Indiana) started the scoring with an RBI single.
Junior second baseman Audra Lindenschmidt
(Evansville, Indiana) ended the game with a walk-off, three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Senior pitcher Missy Grover
(Mishawaka, Indiana) earned the victory after giving up one run off seven hits in six innings of work. She improved to 2-4 with the complete-game victory.

Senior catcher Angie Davis
(Greenwood, Indiana) broke a scoreless tie with a two-out, two-run double in the top of the sixth inning and senior pitcher Lindsey McNaughton
(Carmel, Indiana) recorded her first shutout of the season as the Eagles won for the fifth time in six games. McNaughton (3-2) gave up just three hits in the victory.
