Eagles pick up two more wins in Florida
KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team gained another regional victory by defeating West Virginia Wesleyan College, 12-1, in five innings Monday at the Division II Rebel Spring Games. The Screaming Eagles also defeated Northern State University (S.D.), 2-0, later in the day.
USI (6-6) racked up a combined 21 hits in the two games and got strong outings from junior hurlers Amy Harrison (Graceville, Florida) and Stephanie Schneider (Birdseye, Indiana) as it pushed its winning streak to four games.
Junior centerfielder/pitcher Kathy Wood (Lynnville, Indiana) was 4-for-4 from the plate with three runs scored and five RBIs against West Virginia Wesleyan, while senior catcher Lisa Anderson (Chesterton, Indiana) and sophomore shortstop Ally McKinley (Sullivan, Indiana) were each 2-of-3 with an RBI against Northern State.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday when they take on Stonehill College at 2 p.m. (CST) and the University of South Dakota at 4 p.m.

The Eagles scored three in the bottom of the first inning, two in the second, three in the third, and four in the fourth to overcome a 1-0 deficit and gain a big regional victory over West Virginia Wesleyan, 12-1 in five innings. The contest was a rematch from the second round of last year's NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Tournament, a game the Eagles won, 1-0.
