Eagles to host Fall Classic,
Six-team tournament to begin Saturday
Evansville, Ind.—For the fourth year in a row, the University of Southern Indiana softball team will host the Fall Classic at the USI Intramural/Softball Complex on Broadway Avenue.
The annual tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday and features six teams, including three GLVC teams. Joining USI from the GLVC is Kentucky Wesleyan University and Bellarmine University.
Other teams competing include Wabash Valley College, Lincoln Trail College, and Oakland City University.
The tournament will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. with USI playing Wabash Valley on the USI Softball Field. USI also plays GLVC rival Kentucky Wesleyan at 2:30 p.m. on the USI Softball Field. The Screaming Eagles continue action Sunday against Oakland City at 9 a.m.
USI will face cross-town rival University of Evansville Saturday, September 27 at 4 p.m. at UE's Cooper Stadium in a benefit exhibition contest. All proceeds (tickets, donations, and concessions) will benefit the Special Olympics.
