Eagles announce schedule change
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team announced a change to its 2009 schedule Wednesday.
Instead of competing at the Midwest Regional Crossover in Owensboro, Kentucky, February 28-March 1, the Screaming Eagles will host a four-team regional crossover that same weekend at the USI Softball Field.
The Eagles will play Hillsdale College in a doubleheader, beginning at 10 a.m. February 28, while Bellarmine University and Ashland University will square off in a second doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
Games on March 1 will consist of a pair of single games that feature Bellarmine and Hillsdale (10 a.m.) as well as USI and Ashland (noon).
USI (0-6) will travel to Decatur, Alabama, this weekend to take part in the University of Alabama-Huntsville Charger Chillout.
The Eagles take on the University of West Alabama and Alabama-Huntsville Friday at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively, before taking on Delta State University and the University of North Alabama Saturday at 10 a.m. and noon, respectively. USI finishes the weekend Sunday against Truman State University (11 a.m.) and Columbus State University (1:30 p.m.).
