Plummer named Division II Player of the Month

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana senior forward
Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named the Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for December. Plummer, who also was named GLVC Player of the Week twice in December, is the fourth USI men's basketball player to earn this award.
Previous USI players to earn this award are Chris Thompson (November 2005 and January 2006), Randy Holbrook (January 2005), and Wayne Houston (December 1997).
Plummer helped lead the Screaming Eagles to a 5-0 month of December by averaging 22.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He had a season-high 30 points in the win over Ferris State University and 16 rebounds in the victory over Michigan Tech University. The senior also shot 67.8 percent from the field (40-59) and 75.6 percent from the line (31-41).
For the season, Plummer is USI's top scorer and rebounder with 21.7 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He also has five double-doubles in the nine USI games.
Plummer ranks second in scoring and rebounding in the GLVC. He is 24th in scoring and 17th in rebounding nationally in the NCAA Division II.
