2003 USI Volleyball Schedule
The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2003 season. The Screaming Eagles, who play just seven home matches, will be in search of a second straight GLVC Tournament championship after winning their first in 2002.
USI, which finished the 2002 season with a 26-8 overall record and advanced to the NCAA II Tournament for the first time in the program’s 23-year history, will open the season on the Friday, August 29, at the Radisson Inn/UAH Tournament in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Eagles will open GLVC play Friday, September 19, at the University of Missouri-St. Louis before opening up their 2003 home schedule a week later against the University of Indianapolis.
Provided the Eagles finish in the top eight of the GLVC standings, they will have a chance to defend their conference tournament title Thursday, November 13, through Saturday, November 15, at the GLVC Tournament.
“We are excited to kick off our 2003 campaign against the strong competition we will face in our three opening tournaments,” head coach Craig Bere said. “This will prepare our team quite the start of GLVC play and defending our conference title. Unfortunately we are not home much, but being on the road will make us stronger late in the season.”
