USI’s Boehmer named Daktronics All-Region
University of Southern Indiana senior setter Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named first-team Daktronics All-Region in a vote by the sports information directors of the Great Lakes Region. It is the fourth time in Boehmer’s career that she has been named All-Region and the second time she has been named Daktronics All-Region.
She recently earned honorable mention All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, marking the first time in the USI volleyball program’s 24-year history that a Screaming Eagle has earned All-America honors.
Boehmer finished her career ranked third in GLVC history with a school-record 5,344 assists. She also finished her career ranked sixth in school history with 971 digs.
In 2003, Boehmer led the Eagles to their school-record fourth straight 20-win season (21-9) and fourth consecutive trip to the GLVC Tournament title match. She has been a part of more victories (96) than any other player in the program’s history.
With her first-team selection, Boehmer will be placed on the ballot to earn Daktronics All-America honors. The Daktronics All-America team is scheduled to be release December 19.
