USI volleyball wins in five,

ALLENDALE, Mich.óThe University of Southern Indiana volleyball team won two come-from-behind matches at the Radisson Riverfront Classic Saturday to improve to 6-1 on the season. The Screaming Eagles came back from a 2-1 deficit to top regional foe Lake Superior State University in five games before erasing a 2-0 deficit to top the University of North Dakota in five games.
Against LSSU, junior middle blocker Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) had a match-high 18 kills, while senior middle blocker Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) and sophomore outside hitter Amanda Probst (Wheeler, Indiana) had 16 and 13 kills, respectively.
Probst finished with 19 digs, while freshman defensive specialist/libero Eva Kieffer (Mt. Carmel, Indiana) had a team-best 20 digs. Freshman setter Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) had 64 assists to go along with 6 kills and 8 digs in the victory.
Against UND, freshman outside hitter Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) had a match high 20 kills, while Gross and senior right side hitter Natalie Atzinger (Louisville, Kentucky) had 18 and 14 kills, respectively. Sophomore outside hitter Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) and Ellerbusch chipped in 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Kieffer led USIís defensive charge with a career-high 26 digs, while Atzinger came up with 13 digs. Wilson had 65 assists to go along with 12 digs and four kills.
USI will play in the Great Lakes Region Crossover in Wheeling, West Virginia, September 10-11.
