LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team is now one conference victory away from claiming the GLVC regular season title after a 30-17, 30-21, 30-21 victory over Bellarmine University Saturday afternoon at Knight’s Hall.

The Screaming Eagles (19-5, 13-1 GLVC) hit .359 as a team, including clips of .417 and .406 in the first and third games, respectively, as they won for the sixth straight time.

Junior middle blocker Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) led the Eagles with a match-high 11 kills, four blocks, and a .647 attacking percentage, while senior middle blocker Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) and sophomore outside hitter Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) combined for 19 kills, a .432 attacking percentage, and seven service aces.

Freshman setter Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) had a match-high 33 assists, while sophomore libero Amanda Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) came up with a match-high 11 digs. USI held the Knights (2-18, 1-13 GLVC) to an attacking percentage of .069.

USI, which needs just one victory to reach 20 wins for the fifth straight season, will play No. 20-ranked and defending national champion University of North Alabama Sunday in Florence, Alabama. The Eagles will wrap up the regular season next weekend with matches at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (November 5) and Quincy University (November 6).
