Eagles hit .512 to breeze past Panthers

OWENSBORO, Ky.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team used a season-best .512 attacking percentage to defeat Kentucky Wesleyan College 30-16, 30-14, 30-12 Friday night at the Woodward Health and Recreation Center.
USI (9-7, 2-1 GLVC) hit a blistering .643 in the first game and followed it up with attacking percentages of .375 and .542 in the second and third games, respectively.
Senior middle blocker Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) and junior outside hitter Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) led the Eagles with 10 kills each, while junior libero Mandy Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) had a match-high 12 digs. Sophomore setter Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) recorded a match-high 32 assists in the win.
Sophomore middle blocker Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) had nine kills, a .643 attacking percentage, and a match-high five blocks in the victory.
KWC (2-8, 0-2 GLVC) was led by Erin Krodel's 10 digs and Ashley Murphy's 18 assists.
The Eagles will try to extend their home winning streak to 19 matches Saturday when they host Tiffin University at 2 p.m. in the Physical Activities Center. Tiffin also plays Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 5 p.m. at the PAC.
