Ellerbusch, Buschman lift Eagles to 19th straight home win

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior middle blocker Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) and freshman middle blocker Meg Buschman (Reynolds, Indiana) combined for 34 kills and a .558 attacking percentage to lead the Screaming Eagles to a 30-27, 30-13, 31-33, 30-10 victory over Tiffin University Saturday at the Physical Activities Center.

Ellerbusch gave the Eagles a needed boost in the first game as she recorded seven kills and a .667 attacking percentage to help USI overcome an early deficit and claim the first game. She finished the contest with a match-high 19 kills and .593 attacking percentage
USI (10-7) also got 18 kills from junior outside hitter
Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) as well as 15 kills from sophomore middle blocker
Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana), while sophomore setter
Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) finished the match with 66 assists and 18 digs.
The Eagles had five players with at least 10 digs, with junior libero
Mandy Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) racking up a match-high tying 21 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist
Cara Keever (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) recorded a career-high 14 digs, while Rahman and freshman defensive specialist
Amber Gogel (Ferdinand, Indiana) each chipped in 11 digs.
USI returns to GLVC action Tuesday when it travels to Edwardsville, Illinois, to take the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 7 p.m. The Eagles return home September 30 to take on No. 20 Rockhurst University.
