Ellerbusch, Ryan earn AVCA All-Region honors
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior middle blocker Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) and junior outside hitter Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) have been named All-Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Ellerbusch is on the first team for the second straight season, while Ryan is honorable mention for the first time.

This marks the second time in less than two weeks that Ellerbusch has been selected to an All-Region team. She was named second-team Daktronics All-Region after being named second-team All-GLVC and second-team Academic All-District V.
Ellerbusch led USI with 1.12 blocks per game, a .271 attacking percentage, and was second on the squad with 3.25 kills per game (kpg). An AVCA honorable mention All-American in 2004, Ellerbusch finished her career at USI as the school's all-time leader in career attacking percentage (.325). She also finished third all-time at USI in career blocks assists (254) and was fifth all-time at USI with 1,149 career kills.
Earlier in the season Ellerbusch became the first player in school history to earn AVCA National Division II Player of the Week honors. She is now eligible for the All-America team, which will be released November 28.

Ryan, who was named first-team All-GLVC earlier this season, led the Screaming Eagles with 3.69 kpg during the regular season and was third in the conference in GLVC-only matches with 3.98 kpg. She earned GLVC Player of the Week honors the final week of the season after averaging 4.88 kpg and 3.62 digs per game during the final weekend of the regular season.
USI finished the season with a 19-13 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the GLVC.
