Eagles fall to North Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala.The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team fell in straight sets to No. 20 University of North Alabama Thursday evening.

North Alabama (13-5) jumped out to early leads in each game and never let up as it won game one 30-23 before running away to a 30-16 victory in game two and a 30-18 triumph in game three.

USI (10-6) was held to a .075 attacking percentage, while the Lions attacked at a clip of .277. Senior outside hitter Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) led USI with eight kills, while junior libero Cara Keever (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) had a team-high 10 digs.

Mandy Probst

Senior right side hitter Mandy Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) had six digs, leaving her just 19 shy of breaking Shannon Wells' school-record career-mark of 1,353.

The Screaming Eagles return to the court Friday night when they play the University of West Georgia at 7 p.m. in Florence. They travel to Huntsville, Alabama, Saturday to take on the University of Alabama-Huntsville in a 3 p.m. match.
