Eagles looking wrap up sixth seed,
Face Kentucky Wesleyan for Senior Day
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team is looking to wrap up the sixth seed in next week's GLVC Tournament when it finishes the regular season by hosting Kentucky Wesleyan College for Senior Day Saturday at 3 p.m.
USI (16-10, 8-7 GLVC), which is coming off a tough five-game loss to No. 17 Rockhurst University, will play Rockhurst or Lewis University in the first round of the conference tournament November 2 in Edwardsville, Illinois.
The Screaming Eagles will honor their four seniors—outside hitter/defensive specialist Megan Wollin (St. Peter, Illinois), outside hitters Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) and Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana), and libero/defensive specialist Mandy Probst (Wheeler, Illinois)—prior to the start of the match.
Doubler has continued to shine for the Eagles in 2006. She ranks third in the GLVC in kills per game (3.93) and second in points per game (4.95). Ryan is eighth in the league in both kills (3.64) and points (4.25) per game.
Kentucky Wesleyan (2-25, 0-14 GLVC) is at No. 14 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Friday night before traveling to Evansville for Saturday's regular-season finale.
