EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team saw its season come to an end Thursday as the Screaming Eagles fell to Lewis University 30-20, 28-30, 30-17, 30-23 in the first round of the GLVC Tournament.
USI (17-11) struggled in its attack the entire match as the second-seeded Flyers held the sixth-seeded Eagles to an attacking clip of .087. The Flyers set the tone for the match in game one as they attacked at a clip of .298 in the opening frame.
The Eagles held off a Lewis surge in game two to knot the match at 1-1, but the Flyers (23-5) attacked at clips of .265 and .314 in games three and four, respectively, to turn the momentum back into their favor.
