Doubler nets first-team All-Region honors

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior outside hitter
Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) has been named first-team AVCA All-Great Lakes Region in a vote by the region's head volleyball coaches.
Doubler, who earned first-team All-GLVC honors this season, led the Screaming Eagles' volleyball team in points and kills per game. She ranked second in the GLVC with 4.97 ppg and third in the conference with 3.91 kpg.
In 2006, Doubler led USI and ranked second in the GLVC in service aces per game (0.56). She also recorded double-digits in kills in 21 of USI's 28 matches, including 20 or more kills in four matches. She had a career-high 26 kills against Rockhurst University.
Doubler, the ninth player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills, finished her four years at USI with 1,099 kills and 156 aces. She ranks fifth all-time at USI in aces and eighth in kills.
USI finished the 2006 season with a 17-11 overall record, 9-7 in the GLVC. The Eagles were sixth in the GLVC regular season and qualified for the conference tournament for the eighth consecutive year.
