Eagles get break from GLVC action,
Face Tiffin in regional battle
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team takes a break from GLVC play when it takes on Tiffin University in a Great Lakes Region contest Tuesday at 6 p.m. (CDT) in Tiffin, Ohio. Tuesday's match will be aired live via the web on the B2 Network.
USI (5-4, 1-1 GLVC) is looking to rebound from a closely-contested loss to No. 14 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The Screaming Eagles also are looking to gain momentum before heading into their first GLVC road trip of the season—USI plays at the University of Missouri-Rolla Friday at 7 p.m. and the University of Missouri-St. Louis Saturday at 3 p.m.
Freshman outside hitter Brittani Oliver (Indianapolis, Indiana) and junior libero Amber Gogel (Ferdinand, Indiana) led the Eagles this past weekend. Oliver averaged 4.25 kills per game and hit .306 in her first weekend of GLVC play, while Gogel averaged a league-best 7.75 digs per game in her first weekend of conference action.
Following the three-game road trip, USI returns home to take on No. 20 Rockhurst University September 21 and Drury University September 22.
