Buschman leads Eagles to four-set victory over Rangers

(Reynolds, Indiana) had 11 kills, a .476 attacking percentage, and seven blocks (one solo and six assists) to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 25-19, 19-25, 25-18, 25-14 win over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday afternoon.
The Screaming Eagles (8-10, 3-6 GLVC) used a 7-1 run to overcome a late UW-Parkside (6-12, 2-7 GLVC) rally and win the opening game.
After dropping the second set, the Eagles used an 11-2 run to build a commanding 15-6 lead midway through the third frame. USI hit .312 as a team in the third game as it jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the match.
The Eagles, who attacked at a .274 clip for the match, hit .455 in the fourth set as they cruised to the 11-point win to clinch the match in four sets and put an end to a three-match losing streak.
In addition to Buschman's performance, the Eagles got a double-double out of sophomore outside hitter Brittani Oliver
(Indianapolis, Indiana), who finished with 10 kills and 10 digs. Junior setter Melanie Pund
(Ferdinand, Indiana) had 37 assists and three blocks, while junior outside hitter Courtney Bealor
(LaPorte, Indiana) finished with nine kills and 10 digs. Sophomore libero Janae Curnutt
(Arcadia, Indiana) added 10 digs in the win.
The Eagles return to action Wednesday at 6 p.m. (CDT) when they travel to Greencastle, Indiana, to take on DePauw University. USI also travels to Owensboro, Kentucky, Friday to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College, before traveling to Louisville, Kentucky, next Saturday to take on Bellarmine University.
