Balanced attack leads Eagles to fourth straight win,
USI locks up third seed in GLVC West Division

(Ferdinand, Indiana) dished out 37 assists to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-22, 25-16 victory over Missouri University of Science and Technology in front of a crowd of more than 1,000 fans Friday night.
Pund racked up 14 assists and led the Screaming Eagles (16-13, 9-7 GLVC) to a .286 attacking percentage in the first set as USI quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match. USI also got five of junior outside hitter Courtney Bealor's
(LaPorte, Indiana) team-best nine kills in the opening frame.
After grinding out a three-point win in the second set to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match, the Eagles found themselves trailing by four early in the third game. USI, however, used a 6-2 run to tie the set at 13-13; then used a 9-0 run to finish the set and close out its fourth straight 3-0 victory.
USI, which hit .254 as a team and had five different players finish with at least seven kills, clinched the third seed in the GLVC West Division and ensured its ninth consecutive winning season with the victory.
In addition to Pund and Bealor's performance, junior middle blocker Ashley Henricks
(Greenwood, Indiana) aided the Eagles with seven kills, a match-high .583 attacking percentage, and a match-high four blocks.
The Eagles finish the regular season Saturday at 3 p.m. when it visits the GLVC West Division champion University of Missouri-St. Louis. The GLVC Tournament is November 14-16 in Romeoville, Illinois.
