Moore earns co-GLVC “Player of the Week” honors

University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball senior guard Jasmine Moore (Chicago, Illinois) earned co-Great Lakes Valley Conference “Player of the Week” honors after leading the Screaming Eagles to road wins at Bellarmine University and Kentucky Wesleyan College. She joins Saint Joseph’s College sophomore forward Heather Allen in receiving the honor.

Moore averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 assists per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from behind the arc. She scored a team-high 20 points and dished out a game-high six assists in USI’s 96-85 victory over Bellarmine.

Against Kentucky Wesleyan, Moored contributed 16 points and a game-high seven assists to lead USI to its 23rd victory of the season—the fourth most victories in a season in USI history. It is the first time Moore has earned the honor and the fifth time this season that a player from USI has been named GLVC “Player of the Week.”

For the season, Moore is averaging 13.8 points per game and leads the team with 4.3 points and 3.4 steals per contest.

The Eagles (23-5 overall, 16-4 GLVC) will face the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Wednesday, February 27, in the first round of the GLVC Tournament. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Indiana.

USI is ranked sixth in the nation and second in the Great Lakes Region and enters the tournament with the second seed. UWP is the seventh seed in the tournament.
