Stuckman earns Daktronics All-Region honors
University of Southern Indiana sophomore forward Jessica Stuckman (Quincy, Illinois) has been selected to the 2001-02 Daktronics All-Great Lakes Region first team in a vote by the region’s Sports Information Directors. Stuckman will now be placed on the All-American ballot for Daktronics, Inc., which will be announced March 19.
A two-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference performer, Stuckman has led the USI women’s basketball team to a 26-5 record, a second consecutive GLVC Tournament title, a national ranking of fourth, and the number one seed in this weekend’s NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Tournament.
The Quincy, Illinois native leads the GLVC with 20.7 points per game and is sixth in the league with a team-high 7.3 rebounds per outing. She has scored in double-figures in 30 of USI’s 31 games this season and recorded 30 or more points on five different occasions, matching LeAnn Freeland’s school record for 30-point performances in a single season.
This season, Stuckman has been selected first-team All-GLVC, earned her second consecutive GLVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player award, and been named GLVC Player of the Week twice. She also earned MVP honors at the Disney Division II Tip-off Classic in Orlando, Florida.
Stuckman and the Screaming Eagles will be in action this Friday, March 8, as they take on the winner of tonight’s Hillsdale College-Gannon University game. Tomorrow’s tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Indiana.
