Link to 2004-05 Schedule
The University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2004-05 campaign Thursday. The Screaming Eagles, who play an exhibition contest with the St. Louis Gold Stars November 5, will play a 27-game schedule that starts with a road date against the University of Alabama-Huntsville November 15.
USI, which was 20-10 overall and 12-8 in the GLVC a year ago, starts its home schedule November 21 against the Calumet College of St. Joseph’s, the first of four straight home games.
After a November 23 contest against Robert Morris College, the Eagles will open their GLVC schedule with a home game against the University of Indianapolis November 26. USI will wrap up its four-game home swing with Saint Joseph’s College two days later.
A GLVC date with the University of Missouri-St. Louis (December 8) as well as non-conference games against West Virginia Wesleyan College (December 19) and the University of North Alabama (December 22) make up USI’s home schedule during the Christmas month. December road games include Lewis University (2nd), Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (4th), and a pair of Great Lakes Region games in Midland, Michigan, against Ferris State University and Northwood University (30th-31st).
USI will start 2005 January 6 when it hosts Bellarmine University, two days before a home game with Northern Kentucky University. Other January home games include SIU Edwardsville (20th), Quincy University (22nd), and Kentucky Wesleyan College (29th).
The Eagles will play just two road games in January—January 13 against Saint Joseph’s and January 15 against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside—setting up a difficult close to the 2004-05 schedule.
USI will be at Northern Kentucky (February 3) and Indianapolis (February 5) before closing out its home schedule with UW-Parkside February 10 and Lewis February 12. The Lewis game will be Homecoming and Senior Day for the Eagles.
The Eagles will be on the road for the final four contests of the season, starting with Quincy February 17 and UM-St. Louis February 19. The Eagles will be at Kentucky Wesleyan (February 14) and Bellarmine (February 26) to close out the season.
USI will get its shot for an automatic bid at the GLVC Tournament March 3-6 at Roberts Stadium in Evansville. The NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Tournament will be at the region’s top seed March 11-14 and the NCAA II Elite Eight will be at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, March 23-26.
