Eagle fans invited to wear red for UNA game
EVANSVILLE, Ind.óFans who wear red to the Physical Activities Center Wednesday when the University of Southern Indiana womenís basketball takes on the University of North Alabama at 7 p.m. will be admitted for free.
The Screaming Eagles (7-2) have won three straight games after an 80-60 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday. Senior forward/center Andrea Engleking (Charlottesville, Indiana) scored a career-high 26 points, while senior guard Jamie Truitt (Owensboro, Kentucky) chipped in a season-high 22 points in the victory.
During USIís last five games, Truitt and Engleking have been dominating, averaging 17.8 and 17.6 points per game, respectively. Truitt has connected on 20 three-pointers and Engleking is shooting 66.7 percent from the floor during that span.
For the season, Truitt leads the Eagles with 14.5 ppg, while Engleking is following with 12.9 ppg.
USI is hoping for the return junior guard/forward Ashley Green (Otterbein, Indiana). Green, who is averaging a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game and leads the GLVC in three-point field goal percentage (.591), did not play against WVWC due to an ankle injury.
UNA has won two straight games after starting the season 2-7. Junior guard/forward Lauren Qualls leads the Lions with 16.9 ppg, while freshman forward India Hackman leads the squad with 5.7 rpg.
