Truitt nets All-League honors
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior guard Jamie Truitt (Owensboro, Kentucky) was named All-GLVC honorable mention in a vote done by the leagues coaches. It marks the second time in two seasons that Truitt has earned All-Conference honors.
Truitt led the Screaming Eagles with 14.6 points per game in 2004-05 while climbing up to 14th all-time at USI with 841 career points. She also ranks second at USI with 165 career three-pointers in two seasons as an Eagle. Counting her two seasons at Western Kentucky University, Truitt has connected on 227 career three-pointers.
The Apollo High School graduate set a school-record and tied a league record with nine three pointers in a 71-62 loss at Saint Joseph’s College earlier this season. Truitt, who has reached her career-high of 31 points in a game twice, has scored at least 20 points in a game five times this season, 16 times in her career at USI. She has reached double-digits in the scoring column 19 times this season and 43 times in her career with the Eagles.
Truitt and the rest of the Eagles will take on Lewis University in the first round of the GLVC Tournament Friday night at Roberts Stadium. Tip-off is six o’clock. USI is the seventh seed in the tournament, while the Flyers are seeded second.
