EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana women's basketball senior guard
Tiara Brown (Normal, Illinois) was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performance in the Screaming Eagles' 100-70 victory over Oakland City University.
Brown, who is the first USI women's player this season to be named GLVC Player of the Week, finished the Oakland City game with a career and game-high 21 points in just 25 minutes of action. She went 6-of-6 from the field, including 4-of-4 from behind the arc, as the Eagles won for the ninth time in 11 games.
This is the first time that Brown has been named the GLVC Player of the Week. Other players receiving consideration this week were Drury's Kara Rutledge, Rockhurst's Alisha Cade, and SIU Edwardsville's Whitney Sykes.
USI (9-5, 2-2 GLVC) hosts the University of Alabama-Huntsville this evening at 5:15. The Eagles resume conference play Thursday when they travel to Louisville to take on Bellarmine University at 4:45 p.m.
