Eagles slide three spots in regional poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team slid three spots to 10th in the second NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Poll.
USI (12-7, 6-5 GLVC), which was ranked seventh in the first poll last week, was joined by six GLVC schools and three GLIAC schools. Lewis University remained first, while Grand Valley State University moved up two spots into second. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville fell one spot into third, while Bellarmine University and Ferris State University remained fourth and fifth, respectively.
Drury University and Gannon University each jumped two spots into sixth and seventh place, respectively, while the University of Wisconsin-Parkside entered the poll in eighth place. Northern Kentucky University, which slid three spots to ninth, joined USI to round out the top 10.
The Screaming Eagles, who are vying for their first NCAA II Tournament selection since 2003-04, host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thursday at 5:15 p.m. and the University of Missouri-Rolla for Homecoming Saturday at 1 p.m.
