Eagles send seniors out with win
at Southern Indiana (10-17, 5-14 GLVC): 78

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team sent its senior class out with a 78-68 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center.
USI (10-17, 5-14 GLVC) used a 17-2 run to overcome an early five-point deficit and build a 10-point lead seven minutes into the contest.
The Tritons (7-20, 4-15 GLVC) cut USI's advantage to three points (24-21) later in the half, but the Screaming Eagles used an 18-4 run to build their largest lead of the contest (42-25) with less than two minutes to play in the period.
After going into the break with a 42-30 halftime lead, the Eagles built their advantage to as many as 16 points in the second half before settling for the 10-point win.
As a team, the Eagles shot 52.8 percent from the field, including 53.6 percent in the first half.
