Meneghetti, Young earn All-Tournament honors
AUSTIN, Texas—Sophomore guards Lauren Meneghetti (Munster, Indiana) and Ellen Young (Salem, Illinois) earned All-Tournament honors for their performances in leading the University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team to a 1-1 mark at the St. Edwards University Shootout this weekend.

Meneghetti averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, while Young tallied 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in USI's first two games of the 2008-09 season.
In USI's 83-76 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State University Sunday afternoon, Meneghetti racked up a career-high 26 points to go with four rebounds and a pair of assists. Young scored 19 points, dished out four assists, and recorded three steals as the Screaming Eagles picked up their first win of the year.
St. Edwards' Sara Head was named the tournament's most valuable player, while teammate Kelli Payton joined Meneghetti, Young, Southeastern Oklahoma's Destiny Brown, and Abilene Christian University Audrey Maxwell-Lively on the All-Tournament team.
USI (1-1) opens its home schedule Saturday when it hosts Edinboro University in a men's and women's doubleheader. Tip-off is slated for 5:15 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center.
