The University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball team announces the signing of 5’8” senior guard Amanda Lechlitner (Mishawaka, Indiana) to a letter of intent for the 2002-03 season. Lechlitner is the first student athlete to sign with the women’s program this year.

USI Head Coach Rick Stein, who led the Screaming Eagles to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in just his second season at the helm last season, said, “Amanda is an athletic shooting guard that can play both ends of the floor. She brings an all around game with her shooting, passing, and defensive abilities. Amanda’s best basketball is ahead of her.”
