Eagles jump to sixth in latest Top 25 poll,
Move to second in latest regional poll
The University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball team jumped five spots to sixth in the latest USA TODAY/ESPN/WBCA Top 25 Poll. After being ranked 11th in the last poll, the Screaming Eagles won two games a week ago to make the jump.
Northern Kentucky University was the only other Great Lakes Valley Conference school to be ranked in the top 25. The Norse fell from fifth to ninth after loosing at Bellarmine University last Thursday.
USI (21-5 overall, 14-4 GLVC) also moved to second in the latest Great Lakes Regional Poll. The Eagles were ranked third last week, but benefited from Northern Kentucky loss last week.
From the GLVC, NKU was ranked third in the regional poll while Quincy was ranked fifth and Bellarmine was ranked eighth. Despite dropping two games last week, Lake Superior State University (19-4) held onto the top spot in the region.
The Eagles will travel to Bellarmine tomorrow evening before ending their regular season at Kentucky Wesleyan College this Saturday, February 23. USI is second in the GLVC and is a game back of Northern Kentucky and a game up on Quincy.
