Flora signs with USI
The University of Southern Indiana women’s cross country/track program announced the signing of Lydia Flora to a letter of intent for the 2002-03 season. Flora is the sixth player to sign with USI Head Coach Mike Hillyard’s women’s program.
Flora is a senior at Manchester High School in North Manchester, Indiana, where she earned nine letters in track, cross country, swimming, and diving. She set the MHS two-mile record with a time of 12:09 and advanced to the regionals as a member of the 4 x 800m relay team as a junior.
"Lydia really seemed to fit in well with the team on her visit,” said Hillyard. “She is excited about the challenges of competing at the collegiate level.
“ In terms of talent, I really feel that she has just barely scratched the surface of what she is capable of,” continued Hillayard. “There is no doubt in my mind that Lydia will make an outstanding contribution to USI Cross Country. We are very excited that she chose to be a part of our program.”
