Perry/Boberg jump to first place at Cardinal Open

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—University of Southern Indiana women’s track and field All-Americans Candace Perry (Anderson, Indiana) and Abby Boberg (Bicknell, Indiana) recorded first-place jumps in their respective events to lead the Screaming Eagles at the Louisville Cardinal Open Friday at Cardinal Park Stadium.
Perry posted a mark of 19 feet, 1 ¼ inches in the long jump, while Boberg leaped five feet, six inches in the high jump to record her first NCAA II provisional qualifying mark of the outdoor season.
USI’s men were led by sophomore Danny Fisher (Nashville, Indiana). Fisher finished fifth in the 3,000-steeplechase with a time of 9:48.36.
The Eagles also have competitors competing at the Hillsdale Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan, this weekend. USI is scheduled to compete at the Butler Twilight in Indianapolis next Saturday, May 1.
