Burgin, Stock advance to finals

EMPORIA, Kan.—University of Southern Indiana women's track and field senior
Crystal Stock (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) and junior
Missy Burgin (Sellersburg, Indiana) advanced to the finals of their respective events Thursday at the NCAA II Outdoor Championships.

Stock finished second in heat number two of the 3,000-meter prelims with a time of 10 minutes, 12.60 seconds, while Burgin was third in heat number one of the 3,000-meter steeplechase prelims with a time of 11 minutes, 16.79 seconds.
Overall, Stock is seeded fourth heading into Friday's 3,000-meter finals, while Burgin is seeded sixth in Saturday's steeplechase finals. Stock also competes in prelims of the 5,000-meter Friday night.
USI men's senior
Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) competes in the prelims of the 800 meters Friday evening. The finals of the 800 meters are Saturday at night.
