EVANSVILLE, Ind.— University of Southern Indiana women's track and field sophomore Allison Shafer (Plainville, Indiana) and senior Missy Burgin (Sellersburg, Indiana) each posted an NCAA II provisional qualifying time this weekend at the Iowa State Classic in Aimes, Iowa.

Shafer ran the 5,000 meters in 17 minutes, 10.22 seconds, 13 seconds faster than her previous personal-best time which she posted earlier this season. Burgin finished the mile in four minutes, 59.18 seconds, ranking her third all-time at USI in the indoor mile.
The Screaming Eagles also finished 13th as a team at the DePauw Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana, on Saturday.
Senior
Carrie Leimberger (Indianapolis, Indiana) and freshman
Sarah Whiteman (Bloomington, Indiana) were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 3,000 meters, while sophomore
Christy Dixon (Owensboro, Kentucky) was fifth in the 800 meters. Freshman
Danielle Glick (Hemlock, Indiana) was sixth in the 5,000 meters.
USI returns to action Friday when it competes at the Hoosier Hills Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana. The GLVC Championships are February 24 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
