ST. LOUIS, Mo.—University of Southern Indiana women's track and field senior
Missy Burgin (Sellersburg, Indiana) finished first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday at the Washington University Invitational.
Burgin recorded an NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 10 minutes, 43.26 seconds in the victory, nearly 25 seconds faster than that of the second-place finisher.
Sophomore
Marcia Weflen (Rossville, Indiana) and senior
Carrie Leimberger (Indianapolis, Indiana) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the steeplechase to help the Screaming Eagles to a 11th-place finish with 23 points.
USI returns to action Saturday when they compete in the Gatorade Classic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
