GREENCASTLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's track and field team had three first-place finishes as it placed third at the DePauw Invitational Saturday.

Senior
Heather Cooksey (Brownsburg, Indiana) won the mile and was second in the 800 meters, while freshman
Allison Laird (Greenville, Indiana) and junior
Meagan Scheidler (Terre Haute, Indiana) won the 5,000 meters and 3,000 meters, respectively.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles had 11 top-five finishers and 13 top-10 finishers as they wrapped up the one-day event with 92 total points.
Sophomore
Mary Ballinger (Chesterton, Indiana) and junior
Christy Dixon (Owensboro, Kentucky) each had a pair of top-five finishes, while freshman
Leslee Getts (Corunna, Indiana) added a pair of top-10 finishes.
USI will run a split-squad next weekend as it competes at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Friday and Saturday and at DePauw Classic on Saturday.
