Cooksey garners GLVC honors
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Senior Heather Cooksey (Brownsburg, Indiana) has been named the GLVC Women's Track Athlete of the Week in a vote by the league's coaches.

Cooksey posted an NCAA II automatic qualifying time in the 5,000 meters Saturday at the DePauw Classic in Greencastle, Indiana. She won the event with a time of 17 minutes, 5.5 seconds, nearly a minute faster than that of the second-place competitor.
The 10-time All-American led the Screaming Eagles to a 12th-place finish with her performance and cemented herself into a trip to the NCAA II Indoor Championships for the fourth time in her career.
USI returns to action Friday when it competes at the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special in Charleston, Illinois. The GLVC Championships are March 1 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
