Eagles finish 10th at Little State Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's track and field team finished 10th at the 103rd annual Indiana Intercollegiate Little State Championships this weekend.
Junior Sarah Baysden
(Shelbyville, Indiana) and sophomore Christy Dixon
(Owensboro, Kentucky) paced the Screaming Eagles with a pair of second-place finishes. Baysden finished second in the 10,000 meters with a time 39 minutes, 47.43 seconds, while Dixon was second in the 1,500 meters with a time of four minutes, 54.18 seconds.
Overall, the Eagles had seven top-10 finishes as they racked up 29 team points. Freshman Leslee Getts
(Corunna, Indiana) was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while freshman Allison Laird
(Greenville, Indiana) was fifth in the 10,000 meters.
Sophomore Lauren Crick
(Evansville, Indiana) was sixth in the 800 meters, while junior Marcia Weflen
(Rossville, Indiana) and sophomore Sarah Whiteman
(Bloomington, Indiana) were eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
USI returns to action Friday when it competes at the Eastern Kentucky Open in Richmond, Kentucky.
