HILLSDALE, Mich.—The University of Southern Indiana women's track and field team posted a pair of NCAA II provisional qualifying times this weekend at the 42nd annual Hillsdale "Gina" Relays.

Sophomore
Mary Ballinger (Chesterton, Indiana) posted a provisional mark in the 5,000 meters as she finished 10th with a season-best time of 17 minutes, 23.55 seconds. It was the second time that Ballinger has posted a provisional time in the 5,000 meters this season. She posted an automatic qualifying time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase earlier this season.

Fellow classmate
Christy Dixon (Owensboro, Kentucky) also posted a provisional mark as she finished sixth in the 1,500 meters with a season-best time of four minutes, 37.95 seconds.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles had three top-10 finishes at the Hillsdale "Gina" Relays and one top-10 finish at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Twilight Open. Junior
Allison Shafer (Plainville, Indiana) finished ninth in the 10,000 meters at the "Gina" Relays, while sophomore
Sarah Whiteman (Bloomington, Indiana) was fifth in the 3,000 meters at the SIU Edwardsville Twilight.
USI returns to action Friday and Saturday when it competes at the GLVC Championships in Edwardsville, Illinois.
